Your peugeot 407 will use ic card 1049 and the 6 cut height ABCDEF series.
So all 4 series use the exact same VA2 blade, but cut from 4 different cards/files due to using different depth and space and flat width measurements, thus a different card/file reference exists for each. IC card 1423, this shares the same cut heights and flat width as card 1126, but has 8 positions so has 2 extra cut positions on the key, but still uses the same VA2 key blade. There is 1 more series on VA2 this one is The above 3 key series all use the same VA2 key blade, yet each is cut slightly different, all share the same spacing between cuts and the same positions on the key 1049 differs a fraction on a position but not enough to matter, it is the key cut heights where differences are found, and the flat width measurement differs, the flat width is the size of the cut, the area of the cut the key interacts with. IC card 1126, this series also uses the same 6 positions same spacing as the rest and like 1125 just 4 key cut heights, 1 cut height differs to 1125 on cut height which is the 4/8/Q/H cut height and the flat width differs to card 1125. IC card 1125, this series uses 6 positions same spacing as the rest and just 4 key heights, 1234Q5678H series, so unlike 1049 it uses just 4 key cut heights, 1125 differs to 1126 on the cut height of just 1 cut height, the deepest 4/8/H/Q cut differs slightly and the flat width differs also to card 1126 IC card 1049, this series uses 6 positions same spacing as the rest and 6 key heights, ABCDEF series but the difference being this series uses 6 key heights every key series or key blank has its own card, some keys have differing cards for the same key blank, VA2 is just such a series as despite the same va2 blade being used, the depth and space series differs on each series, for instance cards are the individual card or file that stores the space and depth info as well as the flat width, pitch info and key blade dimensions, so all the key data for the machines to cut, so the measurements. once upon a time we used to print cards to work with blitz machines to cut edge keys to code, the word cards stuck even on the electronic machines, so when it refers to card 1049 it refers to instacode card 1049.
